Sorcha (pronounced “sor-sha”) is an Irish word meaning “Sarah”, and Sarah (O’Sullivan) Kim is the founder of Sorcha. She was born and raised in a small seaside town south of Dublin, Ireland. Sarah moved to the United States in the late 1980’s, graduated from Wellesley College, and currently resides in Boston with her husband and three sons. She still has very close ties to Ireland where her mother and five of her siblings still live and she frequently visits. It was during one of those visits that she realized how much she had always loved the beautiful handmade Irish ceramics and textiles, and began exploring the undeveloped market in the U.S. for Contemporary Celtic handmade products. Over the past three years, traveling to Ireland, she has met with many Irish Designers and Artists who are delighted to display their products.  

Sorcha is dedicated to bringing you a wide range of outstanding, modern innovative products from Ireland.  Sorcha purchases all of its products directly from the artist, and as everything is handmade, there is some variation between each product. All our artists are accomplished and well established with a renowned reputation for quality and craftsmanship. All are members of the Craft Council of Ireland and many have won awards for their high quality work.
